THERAPEUTIC KINTSUGI WORKSHOP

Learn the Art of Precious Scars

Kintsugi means “golden joinery” in Japanese, and this 15th century traditional practice of mending broken ceramics and putting them back together with gold, highlights these "scars" as a part of the design. This is a metaphor for embracing our flaws and imperfections.

Create your own functional Kintsugi art piece in a therapeutic group session where you will learn some of the basic techniques of Kintsugi, it’s history and the philosophy of finding ‘beauty in the broken’ of this emotional and spiritual centuries old artform.

This workshop offers an opportunity for self growth and healing through its thought provoking philosophy. How do its metaphorical messages apply to your journey? Kintsugi can teach us many valuable life lessons. How will it speak to you?

Healing Arts conduct this therapeutic Kintsugi workshop within Ellenbrook Arts HQ. We also facilitate this workshop across Perth suburbs for groups of up to 10 people at the location of your choice. Support groups and family support services are among those who have found benefit in the values of this insightful art.
